Ajay Devgn's beefy look for Singham

Everyone has been raving about Ajay Devgn's body of late. The actor has been sporting a beefy look for Reliance Entertainment's Singham!

Says the director Rohit Shetty, "We've tried to achieve for AJ the physique of a man who could bash up 20 people, if he so wished. It's not a six-pack look. Anyone can achieve that with injections and steroids. The manliness has to come through as he plays a tough cop who is from a village on the Maharastra-Goa border. It is a raw action film filled with hand to hand combat scenes, something one rarely gets to see in movies in this day and age of high gadgetry. Ajay's trained Prashant Sawant is putting him through the paces."

Adds Prashant, "We trained for three months. Ajay plays a very tough cop. He needed to look the part by losing weight, developing more cuts on his body and appear more lean and muscular. After training for an hour and half, I oversaw his diet and made sure he maintained a high-protein low-carb diet every three hours. I then had him do a rigorous combination of weights and circuit super sets that incorporated all techniques including push-ups and pull-ups."

When quizzed about the time it took for Ajay to build his physique, "It didn't take him much time. Ajay has a great body and he has always been a fitness freak. It's not difficult for him to maintain it", quipped the trainer.

Fans of the actor can look forward to seeing him in a completely raw and desi action hero avatar!

When Salman Khan was seen as funny cop Chulbul Pandey, sporting a pencil moustache in the super duper hit "Dabangg", his fans went crazy, especially those from Uttar Pradesh where the movie was set. Another popular actor to be seen on screen with a moustache is Abhishek Bachchan in "Dum Maro Dum". Abhishek, who usually has a stubble, sports a moustache in the movie to look like a real cop.

Arbaaz to recreate Munni magic in Dabangg 2

Some feel he's getting overambitious, some say he runs the risk of miffing many...but producer and soon to be director Arbaaz Khan cares little.

Dabangg producer has already announced the sequel to the blockbuster and is now leaving no stone unturned to make it an even bigger success than the original. While he has already planned to base the film from the village in UP to the urban Mumbai, Arbaaz is also working hard on repeating the Munni Badnaam Hui magic.

A source reveals, "The popularity of Munni worked wonders for Dabangg and Arbaaz wants to recreate the same magic with the item song in Dabangg 2. He has roped in not one but five music composers to come up with their individual numbers. He will then hear all their versions and choose the best."

We also hear that since the sequel will be set in Mumbai, the item number will have an urbane beat to it as opposed to the raunchy village setting in Munni.

Now, only time will tell if Arbaaz is able to out do the success of Munni.

Pay to have dinner with SRK?

Well, yes. Finally you can have that dinner date with SRK. But hey, you will have to pay for it.
A little birdie tells me that SRK who is currently shooting for Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan in San Francisco is generating quite a lot of money by having dinner with his fans in the posh hotel he is staying.
Apparently, the hotel management after realising SRK’s superstardom have offered their terms of agreement for holding charity dinners at the hotel.
Any fan who wants to have dinner with SRK present in the hall has to pre-book a table. Any fan who wants his picture taken with Khan has to pay an additional $250. And to sit on the same table with the star, one has to pay a little more. Whew!
And I hear, it’s all for a good cause! The money that has been generated from the dinner wiil be donated to a charity.
Now, everybody talks about Salman Khan’s generosity. Looks like SRK finally decided to give him some competition. Me however thinks, Shah Rukh has gone a bit too far with it. Maybe next time, he’ll stick to this side of the Pacific. (Source: Buzz 18)

Saif-Kareena-Shahid drama on big screen!

An MMS showing Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor locking lips three years ago made headlines for months. But what happened afterwards? How exactly did Bebo become Saif’s girl and why did she snub his sister Soha in public? Coming soon to a theatre near you is The Secret life of Karina (that’s how the filmmaker spells it to avoid legal hassles with the actress), a B-grade film that claims to have answers to all these questions.

The film has an alleged budget of Rs 20 crores and is being produced by Spectra Multimedia Films, a production house known for making regional movies. “The film is inspired by the life of Shahid Kapur, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan,” explains Flynn Remedios, Spectra’s executive producer. “The film will be based mostly on media reports. It’ll show the underbelly of Bollywood. We are not cooking up anything. These stories were published. We will be showing the whole incident of the Shahid-Kareena smooch and even the one when Kareena snubbed Saif’s sister Soha Ali Khan at an event,” he says.

Believe it or not, the pot boiler will also draw some instances from the infamous real life of Bollywood’s bad boy Salman Khan. The lead protagonist in the movie, cleverly named Saifee, is supposedly a mixture of Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s personalities.

Remedios says, “Saifee’s character will exhibit traces of Salman’s ‘violent’ love stories with his ex girlfriends, notably Somi Ali and Aishwarya Rai.”

He explains that the film is set to go on the floors next month as the star cast is yet to be finalised.

Shradha Sharma, the actress initially chosen to play the lead role of Karina, has since declined the offer. “I wasn’t comfortable playing this character as I do not want to offend Kareena Kapoor. There was a scene in which Shaheed [the screen name for the actor playing Shahid Kapur’s role] cuts his wrists for the actress and I found all this very uncomfortable,” says Sharma.

When asked to react, Salman’s spokesperson Alok Mathur said that if the production house is openly claiming that the character is that of Salman, “they will get into real trouble”.

“They are just out to get publicity. They can’t get the real Salman, toh Salman ke naam ka faayda uthaaenge. Such films always flop,” said Mathur.

Responding to the matter, Shahid Kapur’s spokesperson said, “Shahid doesn’t know about such a film and is not going to bother. It is a B-grade film and these people are clearly doing it for publicity.”

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were not available for comment.

Aamir Hussain Khan (born March 14, 1965) in Mumbai, India, is a highly acclaimed and a prominent National Film Award-winning Indian film actor and producer.
Being a part of several commercially successful movies and delivering highly acclaimed performances, he has established himself as one of the top and most successful leading actors of Hindi cinema.
Aamir was born in Mumbai into a Shia Muslim family that has been actively involved in the Indian film-industry. He is a descendant of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and is originally from Shahbaad, Uttar Pradesh.His father Tahir Hussain is a producer; his uncle Nasir Hussain was a director. He has acted in a few films directed by his cousin Mansoor Khan. His brother Faisal Khan is an actor, and they have co-starred in the 2000 film Mela. His cousin Tariq was an actor in the 1970s who notably appeared in "Yaadon Ki Baraat" and "Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin".
Appearing as a child actor in Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Khan's career started eleven years later with the film, Holi (1984). He received his first commercial success with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and won a Filmfare Best Debut Award for his performance in the film. After eight previous nominations during the 1980s and 1990s, he received his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance in "Raja Hindustani" (1996), his biggest commercial success so far.
He won acclaim for his role in the Academy Award nominated Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) and received his second Best Actor award at the Filmfare ceremony as well as numerous other awards. Taking a four year break from acting, Aamir made his comeback with Ketan Mehta's "The Rising" (2005).
Aamir began his career as a child actor in films like "Yaadon Ki Baraat" (1973) and "Madhosh" (1974). After eleven years, he made his acting debut in a supporting role with Ketan Mehta's "Holi" (1984).
In 1988 he got his first leading role in "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" which was a huge success and launched his career.Publicists tried to position him as a teen idol, every college girl's dream.He went on to appear in many other films in the 1990s, which did poorly at the box office.
However, Dil became the highest grossing films of 1990. Aamir went on to write the screenply for Mahesh Bhatt's "Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke" (1993), in which he also acted. After his debut his most successful films included Dil (1990), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992), Rangeela (1995) and Raja Hindustani (1996).
Khan's first and only release in 1996 was Dharmesh Darshan's blockbuster "Raja Hindustani" opposite Karisma Kapoor. The film earned him his first Filmfare Best Actor Award after eight previous nominations during the 1980s and 1990s and went on to become one of the highest grossing films of its decade.

This was followed by the semi-hit "Ishq" (1997), which became the fourth highest grossing film of that year and the moderately successful "Ghulam" (1998), for which he did the playback singing.
John Mathew Matthan's moderately successful "Sarfarosh" (1999) was Khan's first release in 1999. His role as a dedicated cop fighting border terrorism won him critical acclaim. His negative role in Deepa Mehta's offbeat film "Earth"(1999) also won him acclaim.
In 2001 he produced and starred in the Academy Award nominated "Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India". The film became the third highest grossing film of that year and gave him his second Filmfare Best Actor Award.
His second release, the moderately successful "Dil Chahta Hai" (2001) also entered into the top five highest grossing films of that year and earned him another nomination for Best Actor at the Filmfare ceremony.
For the next four years, Khan had no releases, as he put in a lot of time preparing for the role of the real-life martyr Mangal Pandey in his comeback film, "The Rising"(2005) Although the film was not as successful as "Lagaan", it managed to do moderately well, becoming the third highest grossing film of that year.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's critically accliamed Rang De Basanti was Aamir's first release in 2006. His role was well acclaimed,earning him a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance and various nominations for Best Actor including the Filmfare Awards. The film went on to become one of the highest grossing films of the year and was selected as India's official entry to the Oscars Although the film was not shortlisted as a nominee, it won a nomination for Best Foreign Film at the BAFTA Awards in England.
His performance in his next release, "Fanaa" (2006) was also acclaimed and the film went on to become one of the highest grossing films of 2006.
He fell in love with Reena Dutta (a Hindu). As Muslims, his parents did not approve of her. As soon as he turned 21, he proposed to her. She accepted and their marriage stayed a secret for a while.Reena Dutta made a brief appearance in a song sequence in Khan's first film, though not a professional actress and already married to him at that time.
It was big news when the marriage was first revealed. Reena Dutta maintained a very low profile and continued her job working in a travel agency.However, Aamir's popularity survived the revelation, and his marriage to Reena seemed to have survived too. They had two children (son Junaid and daughter Aira) and led a quiet, publicity-shunning family life. Reena was even involved, briefly, in Aamir's career when she worked as a producer for Lagaan.
Then in December 2002, Aamir filed for divorce. Reena took custody of the children. On December 28, 2005, Aamir married again, to Kiran Rao, who had been an assistant to director Ashutosh Gowariker during the filming of Lagaan.

Hrithik Roshan, born on January 10, 1974, is a top rung bollywood actor and son of director Rakesh Roshan. Hrithik Roshan is fondly called 'Duggu' by those close to him. As a child artist Hrithik Roshan worked in 'Asha', 'Bhagwan Dada' and 'Aap ke Deewane'. He also worked as an assistant director on 'Khudgarz', 'Karan Arjun' and 'Koyla', 'Karobar' and 'King Uncle'.

Hrithik Roshan made his debut as a leading man in Bollywood with 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai', a movie produced and directed by father Rakesh Roshan. The movie was a huge success and turned Hrithik Roshan into a superstar literally overnight.

The movie's success was followed by an attack on Rakesh Roshan by the Mumbai underworld, after he ignored their extortion threats. Rakesh Roshan survived the attack.

Hrithik's debut was so sensational, he was being seen as the man taking over from Shahrukh Khan, arguably the most successful actor in bollywood. Shahrukh Khan at that point of time became so insecure reportedly that he agreed to do a Pepsi commercial that made a dig at Hrithik Roshan who endorsed Coke then. This led to a lot of bad press for Shahrukh Khan. Eventually things were sorted out and the two even worked together in Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' where Hrithik played younger brother to Shahrukh Khan.
Hrithik Roshan married Suzzane Khan soon after his debut amidst strong rumors of his liason with Kareena Kapoor. Hrithik's wife Suzzane Khan is the daughter of yesteryear's actor-director Sanjay Khan and sister of actor Zayed Khan. Hrithik now has a son from Suzzane Khan, named 'Rehaan'.

Meanwhile Hrithik's debut movie was followed by a string of flops including 'Fiza', 'Mission Kashmir', 'Yaadein', 'Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage ', 'Na Tum Jaano Na Hum', 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge!' and 'Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon ' with the 2001 release 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' being the only success in this period. Hrithik Roshan played a mentally retarted boy who becomes unusually strong and powerful with the influence of an extra terrestrial visitor from space. The movie also brought him critical aclaim apart from bringing him back in favor with the masses.In early 2006 Hrithik Roshan starred in "Krissh", a sequel to 'Koi Mil Gaya', the third movie produced and directed by his father for him that collected over 70 crore rupees (About $15 million) at the box office.

Over the last five years, his three home productions have been his most successful films and some believe that Hrithik is only successful with his father behind the camera. Sources close to the Roshan family tell us that Hrithik Roshan has immense talent for filmmaking and his contribution to these movies have been behind the camera too. Industry sources say Hrithik Roshan has been strongly influenced by the family of his in-laws and is no longer the soft spoken down to earth boy he was when he started out. This was apparent when allegations of plagiarism surfaced against Rakesh Roshan for 'Krissh' and Hrithik was quoted as saying, "If there's anybody else out there claiming a piece of dad's original work, please come forward. I have a lot of muscle I need to put to come good use".

Hrithik Roshan is known to be very choosy about the movies he works in and few scripts are written keeping him in mind. He is currently part of Yashraj film's 'Dhoom 2' a sequel to the 2004 movie 'Dhoom' in which he plays a villain role for the first time and 'Jodha-Akbar' directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
